Success Essex Board Member | Chelmsford College
I joined Chelmsford College in September 2014 with 19 years’ experience working in Further and Higher Education across a number of vocational sectors. After starting as a new blood lecturer at Suffolk College in 1995 I progressed through the ranks, becoming a Senior Teaching Practitioner. My managerial career began at Otley College where I took up the post of Curriculum Manager of Technology and latterly Director of Business Services before joining Writtle College as Head of Further Education. I originally trained as an Auto Electrician in Ipswich and I am still active within the sector through ongoing involvement with the Institute of the Motor Industry. Additionally, I am an Independent member of Ofsted’s East of England Appeals Panel.
I am delighted to be a member of the Success Essex Board which will allow me to support the work of the Board with my knowledge of post 16 education. Through my Board membership I represent both the Colleges and Independent Training Providers, ensuring that the further education skills needs of the North and Central Essex region are fully supported. Through this role, I believe we can work together to ensure the right people, with the right skills and knowledge, are in the right place to make a real difference to the businesses in Essex.
