Construction Opportunities Event ESB

Over 50 local construction companies attended our 'Construction Opportunities in Essex' breakfast meeting on Wednesday 25th October to learn about the work opportunities that will be open to Essex over the next ten or more years.

In order to fulfil the numerous construction projects in Essex, it was highlighted, businesses could be preparing themselves now to accommodate for their business support needs and ready themselves for the future pipeline.

The attending businesses heard from Colchester Institute about the work they are doing to support employers in creating more industry-led construction courses and taught how apprentices could support employers with their business growth.

In addition BEST Growth Business Hub took the opportunity to share how it could give extra support to businesses by helping them understand and realise their full potential.

Cllr Gagan Mohindra, Deputy Cabinet Member for Economic Growth at Essex County Council, said: “Construction is a vital sector in Essex, employing 64,500 people across the county, so it was important for construction companies to get together. As well as gaining valuable insight and information, the event gave them the opportunity to network and build relationships.

“The event covered the industry as a whole and discussed future workforce and growth opportunities to meet the exciting and significant future pipeline."
