CITB and ESB Partner to Deliver Skills

The ESB and the CITB invite you to help us develop a Construction Skills Strategy for Essex

The Employment and Skills Board (ESB) and Construction Industry Training Board (CITB) would like to invite organisations with an interest in construction skills to help shape the development of a construction employment and skills strategy for Essex by providing your views and opinions at two workshops sessions we are holding in both the north and south of Essex.

The ESB and CITB are committed to supporting business growth, local employment and skills development in the local construction sector. This employment and skills strategy is being developed in partnership to ensure that the construction sector in Essex has the skills and people it needs to prosper. We need your help to shape the strategy and ensure that this best reflects the needs and interests of the local construction sector and its stakeholders.

Workshop 1 – 29th October, 8am to 11am - Colchester Institute, Colchester, CO3 3LL. This workshop will build on the survey so we can better understand your priorities for employment and skills in the local construction sector.  We will seek to explore in more detail what the challenges are for the construction sector in Essex and therefore what the priorities for the strategy should be.

Workshop 2 – 24th November, 8am to 11am – Prospects College of Advanced Technology, Basildon, SS14 3AY  - This workshop will review the proposed content for the strategy based on the research conducted and how this might be effectively implemented to ensure maximum benefit to the local industry and economy.
