ESB Evidence Base 2016

We are proud to announce the launch of our third edition of the Essex skills Evidence Base summary.

Our Evidence Base is a critical, local skills report which contains information concerning skills provision, global, national and regional headlines, sector updates and local business feedback about the employment issues they are facing.

This document was first commissioned in 2013 by the Essex Employment and Skills Board and have ever since been improving in detail and quality. This Evidence Base is our biggest yet, and is fully interactive because we understand that accessing this information is key. The Evidence Base has been a foundation for the Board's ability to reach out to local employers, schools and stakeholders, influence funding and delivering incredible programmes to help shape the future skills of Essex.

The Board's mission is to build the most productive and responsive skills system in the country; the Evidence Base is truly at the helm of this endeavour. This research piece allows us to analyse the key growth sectors within Greater Essex, and identify the barriers within these industries, allowing us to break them down through our innovative partnerships.

This year, 5,000 copies of this summary booklet will be distributed among schools, colleges and training providers, as well as being available to employers across Greater Essex to be used as a powerful tool to inform, enable and deliver a better skills landscape for the region. Our Evidence Base has already helped two colleges secure skills capital funding, and has shaped South Essex College's programme delivery, encouraging them to include a successful logistics course to their curriculum.
