Health and Social Care Taster Day

New year, new start and first up for the ESB's Education and Industry STEM Programme, on January 11th, is our Health and Social Care Taster Day at Colchester Institute.

Students from Essex schools will be coming along for a day of workshops led by a mixture of industry and academic staff. In addition to being able to be hands on in some interactive sessions, pupils will get key insight into the sector, including: local vacancy numbers, key shortages, changing populations and the impact upon types of care, plus a little about our fantastic learning institutions right on students' relative doorstep.

We're delighted to be working with the team at Colchester Institute, and with colleges across the county, to lay on events such as this one - all serving to highlight our key local industry sectors, and to encourage students to consider careers and further learning in or related to them. We've published a series of events our website and are in talks with other colleges about adding dates throughout the year.

In addition, we've also lined up some pretty impressive events like the Royal Institution Computer Science Masterclasses at the University of Essex and Billericay School in February, the ADS Build a Rocket Competition test launch dates in March and our ongoing Colchester Zoo Engineering Project to be getting on with!
